Wade Barter has extensive experience in emergency management and public safety, currently serving as a Captain and Special Operations Coordinator at Daisy Mountain Fire Department since September 2000. Prior experience includes brokerage account management at Vanguard from March 1998 to August 2000 and service in the US Navy as MM3 aboard the USS Belleau Wood, where Wade contributed as a Fire Team Leader and member of the Rapid Response Team. Wade holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Safety from Capella University, having also earned a Master's in Public Administration from Kaplan University and a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management from Grand Canyon University. Wade continues doctoral studies in Leadership in Public Safety at Capella University.

Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical Department
The Daisy Mountain Fire District was formed in January 1988. The district encompasses roughly 100 square miles in the north central section of Maricopa County, Arizona. The district is governed by a five-member elected fire board. The department protects the citizen's of Anthem, Desert Hills and New River with four fire stations staffed with 88 sworn personnel as well as additional support staff. The Daisy Mountain Fire Department currently staffs a fleet of four paramedic engine companies, one ladder company, two paramedic rescues (ambulance), and one battalion command unit. In addition, the department maintains a fleet of support apparatus, including a hazardous materials support unit with tox-medic capability, several water tankers, several brush trucks, and several support and staff vehicles. The Daisy Mountain Fire Department is a member of the Phoenix Regional Automatic Aid System.
