Cindy Duran, LMSW, is an accomplished social worker with extensive experience in various roles focused on mental health and community support. Currently serving as a Bilingual Therapist I at Dallas Children's Advocacy Center, Cindy employs trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) to assist children and families in recovery. Previously, as the Clinical Social Worker and BecomingMom Program Coordinator at ChristianWorks for Children, Cindy facilitated a supportive environment for processing life complexities related to motherhood and grief, while holding training in perinatal mental health. At CitySquare, Cindy progressed from a Case Manager to A Way Home Program Manager, overseeing rapid rehousing programs aimed at promoting self-sufficiency among participants. Early in the career, Cindy gained valuable experience working with refugees at Refugee Services of Texas and engaged in multiple AmeriCorps service positions that enhanced outreach, case management, and support for low-income individuals. Academically, Cindy holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Texas Woman's University.

The mission of Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) is to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and to provide national leadership on child abuse issues. DCAC coordinates the investigation and prosecution of the most severe cases of child abuse in our community. Last year DCAC served over 7,300 children (and their non-offending family members) who were sexually abused, severely physically abused, or who had witnessed a violent crime. DCAC provides a warm, child-friendly environment to help children who are referred by law enforcement or CPS. Our average client is a 9-year-old girl, sexually abused by someone she knows and trusts.
