Megan Bawcum has a strong background in child advocacy and support services. Megan currently works as the Assistant Director of Support Services at the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center, where they provide supervision, professional development, and mentoring to a team of 8 staff members. Megan started their career as a Family Advocate at the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center from 2015 to 2018. The mission of Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) is to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and to provide national leadership on child abuse issues. DCAC coordinates the investigation and prosecution of the most severe cases of child abuse in our community. Last year DCAC served over 7,300 children (and their non-offending family members) who were sexually abused, severely physically abused, or who had witnessed a violent crime. DCAC provides a warm, child-friendly environment to help children who are referred by law enforcement or CPS. Our average client is a 9-year-old girl, sexually abused by someone she knows and trusts.
