William Palmer, MD has a diverse work experience in the medical field. William began their career at the American Academy of Family Physicians as a Member in 2012. In 2014, they joined the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians and also became a Member of JAMA and The JAMA Network. During this time, they worked as a Resident Physician at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines and later transitioned to being a Physician at the same hospital. In 2017, they took on the role of Medical Director at the DR NICK PALMER-JIM ELLEFSON FREE MEDICAL CLINIC and Dallas County Hospital, where they also worked as a Hospitalist. Throughout their career, Dr. Palmer has been involved in various medical organizations and has shown a commitment to providing quality healthcare.
William Palmer, MD obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Ross University School of Medicine from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology, General at Iowa State University. William also holds additional certifications from the American Board of Family Medicine, including the Board of Certification in Family Medicine and the Medical Doctor certification.

Originally known as the King’s Daughter’s Hospital, Dallas County Hospital was founded in 1954 and is a 25-bed critical access hospital serving patients from Dallas, Greene, Guthrie, and Boone counties. The hospital is governed by a Board of Trustees with seven members elected by the residents of Dallas County.
