Chris Smith currently serves as the Chief of Police for the Greenville, TX Police Department since July 2022. Prior to this role, Chris has accumulated extensive law enforcement experience at the Dallas County Sheriff's Department, starting as a Deputy Sheriff in September 1989, advancing to the positions of Lieutenant and later Assistant Chief Deputy, where Chris has served since March 2016. Chris also held the rank of Captain during tenure at the Dallas County Sheriff's Department. Educationally, Chris earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Lamar University between 2013 and 2014.
