Director Of Mental Skills / Mental Health at Dallas Mavericks

Don Kalkstein begins his 20th season as the Mavericks' director of mental skills. Kalkstein is responsible for the implementation and development of peak performance and mental skills programs for players and coaches that are designed to promote the learning and application of mental skills and techniques associated with consistent and optimal performance. Kalkstein served in the same capacity for the Texas Rangers for five years (2013-18) and is currently a special advisor to the club's general manager Jon Daniels. He also worked with the Rangers from 1995-2005 before a seven-year tenure with the Boston Red Sox. With the Red Sox (2006-12), Kalkstein was a member of the World Series champion team in 2007. Kalkstein operates a private sports psychology/mental skills consulting business. Clients currently include athletes from the PGA, NFL, NHL, NASCAR and numerous NCAA schools covering a variety of sports.
