Keith Grant

Assistant General Manager at Dallas Mavericks

Keith Grant has spent 40 seasons with the Mavericks and serves as assistant general manager.

In July 1996, Grant, whose career with the Mavericks began prior to the 1980-81 charter season, was promoted to vice president of basketball operations after serving as director of player personnel from 1994 to 1996. From 1990 to 1994, he served as the club’s director of scouting. In 1984, Grant served as administrative assistant/scout. His responsibilities were expanded to include advance pro scouting prior to the 1986-87 season when Dallas went 55-27 and won the Midwest Division.

Born on Jan. 3, 1958, Grant began his pro sports career at the age of 12, serving as a bat boy for the Oklahoma City 89ers AAA baseball team. He held several positions during his 12-year stint with the club. Prior to graduating from Oklahoma City University in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree

in business management, he played four years of varsity baseball, spending three years on the OCU basketball staff in varying roles.

Grant, who served as the Arlington Stadium organist from 1982 to 1984, is an avid baseball fan and golfer. He and his wife, Nancy, live in Lewisville and have three children, Jennifer, Melissa and Brian.
