Austin Ruff

Substitute/extra Musician at Dallas Symphony Orchestra

Austin Ruff is a skilled musician currently serving as the Associate Principal Horn with the Omaha Symphony since May 2022. Additional performance experience includes roles as a Substitute/Extra Musician with both the New World Symphony and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, as well as holding the position of Rotating Principal/Section Horn at the National Repertory Orchestra since June 2021, where Austin contributed to performances and community engagement projects. Prior to pursuing a career in music, Austin worked in Dining Services at Erickson Living, demonstrating strong teamwork and customer service skills. Austin holds a Master of Music in Horn Performance from Northwestern University (2021-2023) and dual degrees in Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University (2017-2021).
