Lisa New currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Dallas Zoo, a position held since January 2024. Prior to this role, Lisa was the President & CEO of Zoo Knoxville from May 2013 to January 2024 and also served as the Interim Executive Director of the Knoxville Zoo from January 2013 to January 2024. Lisa New holds a Master of Science in Animal Behavior from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, obtained between 1992 and 1995. Additionally, Lisa completed a Certificate of Completion in Business Administration through the Consortium of Social Enterprise Effectiveness Program at the University of Tennessee in 2014 and participated in Leadership Knoxville during 2013-2014.
