Bruno Pereira

Bruno Pereira has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of data science, research, and event organization. Bruno is currently working as a Junior Software Engineer - Data Science at Daloop, where they began in April 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as an R&D Data Scientist at the same company from July 2021 to April 2022.

Before joining Daloop, Bruno worked at Universidade do Minho as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. In this role, they participated in the Project DeepBio and Task 2, focusing on omic data integration in a metabolic model of E. coli. Bruno also worked as a Research Fellow during the Summer with Science program, where they gained experience in Python, Systems Biology, Flux analysis, and model optimization.

Bruno also completed their Master's Degree Dissertation at Escola de Engenharia da Universidade do Minho. Their research involved developing tools for analyzing 2D NMR metabolomic data and incorporating them into an R package called specmine, which is available on CRAN and GitHub.

Additionally, Bruno contributed to the organization of the IX Bioinformatics Open Days as part of the Organizing Committee. Bruno served as the Head of the Logistics Team, responsible for coordinating a team of five people and overseeing tasks such as sponsorship, strategic partnerships, and event logistics.

Throughout their work experience, Bruno has gained skills in programming languages such as Python, R, and Plotly. Bruno has also developed expertise in data preprocessing, univariate and multivariate analysis, and data integration in constraint-based models.

Bruno Pereira pursued their education at the Universidade do Minho from 2018 to 2021, where they obtained a Master's degree in Bioinformatics. Prior to that, they attended the Universidade de Aveiro from 2015 to 2018, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences. During their undergraduate studies, they specialized in Molecular Biomedicine, earning a minor with a grade of 14.
