Alberto Roggi

Alberto Roggi is an experienced health professional with a strong focus on tuberculosis, leprosy, and other diseases affecting vulnerable communities. Currently serving as the Head of Innovation & Medical Technical Unit at Damien Foundation since November 2018, Alberto leads the strategic direction and coordination of efforts to combat these diseases. Previous roles include Medical Advisor and Consultant at the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, and Health Technical Advisor at the National TB Program in Burkina Faso, where Alberto contributed to the implementation of molecular testing for tuberculosis. Alberto's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy from the Università degli Studi di Brescia, a postgraduate degree in Infectious and Tropical Diseases from the Università di Siena, a Master's degree in Tropical Medicine and International Health from Universitat de Barcelona, and a Doctor of Medicine from Università di Siena.
