Mike Tan

Mike Tan is currently the VP of Finance at Damon Motors. Prior to this, they were the Senior Director of Business Operations at Cmd from June 2019 to December 2019. Before that, they were the Director of Finance at Unbounce from March 2014 to April 2019.

Tan began their career as the Financial Controller at HootSuite Media Inc. from July 2011 to January 2014. In this role, they led the finance team over multiple fundraises totalling $188M USD. Mike was responsible for managing all aspects of finance and operations in hyper-growth conditions- financial due diligence, global tax compliance (sales & corporate income) in 5 jurisdictions, with customers in 120 countries. This included cash flow analysis, financial and management reporting, overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions.

From June 2008 to May 2010, Tan worked as an Intermediate Accountant at Waterfront Mining Group. In this role, they were responsible for preparing quarterly financial statements and notes for multiple public mining companies and private entities, preparing working papers, consolidations, variance analysis, full cycle accounting, inter-company invoices, month-end Bank, A/R & A/P account reconciliations, payroll, financial budgeting, cash flow management and ad-hoc reporting.

Mike Tan has a BCOM from The University of British Columbia in Accounting.

Mike Tan reports to Jay Giraud, Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Chris Efstathiou Jr - VP of Supply Chain, Dino Mariutti - Head of EU Operations, and Phil Gow - VP of Power Systems & Bay Area General Manager.
