Yung Lie

Yung Lie has over 25 years of work experience in various roles and organizations. Yung started their career as a Ph.D. student at Stanford University in 1994 and went on to work as a Product Marketing consultant at Metazoa and as a Consultant at Celera Genomics. Yung then joined the University of California, San Francisco as a Postdoctoral Fellow before becoming a Postdoctoral Associate at The Rockefeller University.

In 2008, Yung joined the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation and held several positions including Scientific Director, Chief Scientific Officer, Deputy Director and Chief Scientific Officer, and most recently, President and Chief Executive Officer. Yung played a significant role in the foundation's research and development efforts.

Yung has also been involved in various organizations and boards. Yung is a Member of the Health Research Alliance's Board of Directors and also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors for The Chemical Probes Portal. Furthermore, Yung is a Mentor in Life Sciences at Endless Frontier Labs.

In 2020, Yung expanded their professional network by joining Chief, a private network focused on connecting and supporting women leaders. Yung became a Member of Chief, where they contribute to strengthening the leadership journey of senior women leaders.

Throughout their career, Yung has demonstrated a strong passion for scientific research and leadership. Yung continually seeks opportunities to make a positive impact in their field.

Yung Lie's education history begins with their high school education at Brookfield East High School from 1986 to 1990. They then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Berkeley from 1990 to 1994.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Yung Lie attended Stanford University from 1994 to 2000 to earn a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences. Following that, from 2001 to 2002, they engaged in postdoctoral research in Neurobiology at the University of California, San Francisco.

Yung Lie continued their postdoctoral research at The Rockefeller University from 2002 to 2007, focusing on Developmental Neurobiology. Overall, Yung Lie's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree, Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, and postdoctoral research in both Neurobiology and Developmental Neurobiology.
