Scout Executive, President & CEO at Dan Beard Council, BSA

Andrew Zahn has extensive work experience in various roles within the Boy Scouts of America organization. Andrew started their career in 2002 as a District Executive in the Hawkeye Area Council. From there, they progressed to become a District Director in the same council before moving to the Dan Beard Council in 2007. At the Dan Beard Council, they served as the Field Development Director, managing staff and overseeing fundraising activities. Andrew later became the Director of Development & Marketing, where they led a team and managed fundraising, marketing, and community relations. In 2012, Zahn joined the Greater St. Louis Area Council as the Deputy Scout Executive/COO, responsible for leading strategic initiatives and daily operations. In 2020, they assumed the role of Scout Executive/CEO at the Dan Beard Council.

Andrew Zahn obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Northern Iowa, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications in Business Management for Non-Profit Leaders from Washington University in St. Louis - Olin Business School in October 2019, and CFRE Certification from CFRE International in March 2011.

Dan Beard Council, BSA

The mission of the Dan Beard Council is to prepare the over 30,000 young people in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Dan Beard Council is the administrative body of the the Boy Scouts of America in the Greater Cincinnati area. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the council operations are completed funded by the Friends of Scouting annual giving campaign, corporate sponsorships, the popcorn sale, activity revenue, and the United Way. Funding is used for program delivery in the form of camp operations, the Scout Achievement Center, professional and support staff, and the many Scouting events held throughout the council each year.
