Majid Jafar

Mr. Majid Jafar is the CEO of Crescent Petroleum, the main founder and largest shareholder of Dana Gas, and Vice-Chairman of the Crescent Group of companies, a diversified family business group headquartered in Sharjah in the UAE and active across different industrial sectors and countries.

His previous experience was with Shell International’s Exploration & Production and Gas & Power Divisions in Europe. In addition to his energy industry positions, he serves on the board of the Arab Forum for Environment and Development, Queen Rania Foundation and the Iraq Energy Institute. He is also a member of the GCC Board Directors Institute and the Young Presidents Organization, and is an Accredited Director of the Institute of Directors (IoD Mudara).

Mr. Majid Jafar holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Engineering (Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics) from Cambridge University (Churchill College), as well as an MA (with Distinction) in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of London’s School of Oriental & African Studies, and an MBA (with Distinction) from Harvard Business School.
