Jan Erik Krøyer's work experience includes various roles in different organizations. Jan Erik started their career in 1993 as a teacher at Måløv Skole and then moved on to Syvstjerneskolen in 1994. From 1995 to 1996, they worked as a Project Advisor at Danisch Bible Society, where they planned and organized the distribution of New Testaments to the citizens of Copenhagen. From 1996 to 2002, they worked at DanChurchAid as a Fundraising Advisor and later as a Logistic Consultant, specifically focusing on material aid and refugee camps in Albania. In 2002, they became the Director of Pederstrup Efterskole, where they were responsible for establishing and implementing a vision and strategy for the school. In 2012, they served as the Head of Emergency Management at Jamboree Denmark 2012, planning and implementing contingency plans for a large-scale scout camp. Jan Erik also briefly worked as a Consultant at FDF before joining Danish Red Cross in 2012 as a Base Camp Manager. Jan Erik later took on the roles of Senior Humanitarian Advisor, Country Manager Nepal, and currently serves as the Head of Emergency Operations. Prior to their current position, they also worked as a Team Leader at The Lutheran World Federation from 2013 to 2014. Throughout their career, Jan Erik Krøyer has gained extensive experience in emergency management, humanitarian operations, and leadership roles.
Jan Erik Krøyer completed their Bachelor's degree in Teaching from Københavns Dag- og AftenSeminarium from 1988 to 1992. Jan Erik then pursued a Master's degree in Disaster Management from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen from 2010 to 2011. Additionally, they attended Thisted Gymnasium from 1981 to 1984 to complete their high school education, focusing on Mathematics.
