Veerle Schouten

Veerle Schouten is an experienced humanitarian professional currently serving as the Country Manager for the Danish Red Cross in the occupied Palestinian territories since September 2017. Schouten has held various leadership roles within the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, including Deputy Head of Region for MENA and Regional Grant & Portfolio Advisor, where responsibilities included business development and grant management across multiple crisis-affected regions. Prior experience includes program development and humanitarian consultancy roles at ACTED and Save the Children International. Schouten holds a Master of Laws in Public International Law and a Bachelor of Laws, both from Leiden University, complemented by a minor in Modern Middle Eastern Studies. Academic achievements also include Pre University and Higher General Secondary Education.
