Julie Gørtz Smestad

Julie Gørtz Smestad serves as the Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Senior Vice President at Danske Bank, where responsibilities include overseeing a department of approximately 110 employees across Denmark and Lithuania. With a progressive career at Danske Bank since 2010, key roles have included leading Group Risk Strategy & Impairments and managing Steering, Modeling & Processes within the CFO area. Julie has also driven strategic agendas for the bank’s wholesale division and played pivotal roles in customer insights and strategy development. Educational qualifications range from a Master’s degree in Finance and Strategic Management from Copenhagen Business School to various leadership programs, including a recent Board Leadership Masterclass. Julie has also consulted for various companies and participated in competitive case competitions, winning accolades for strategic expertise.
