Umid Akhmedov

Umid Akhmedov, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Umid is currently working as the Chief Data Officer at Danske Commodities since June 2023. Prior to that, they founded and served as CEO of Aresum Holding ApS starting in September 2022. Umid also served as a Non-Executive Director at JSC Agrobank from June 2022 onwards, where they chaired the Digitalisation and Cyber Security Committee and was a member of the Risk Management and Compliance Committee.

Before that, Umid was the Co-Founder of Tezbor.uz from June 2021. Umid previously held the position of Head of Data and AI CSA at Microsoft from January 2021 to April 2023. Umid also held various roles at FLSmidth, including Director and Head of Architecture, Data & Analytics, and Director and Head of Data & Analytics from March 2019 to January 2021.

In their earlier career, Umid worked at Ørsted as the Head of Advanced Analytics from October 2016 to March 2019. Umid also served as the Lead Information Management Consultant for Pricing and Market Data at Ørsted from September 2012 to October 2016. Additionally, Umid worked as an Adjunct Professor at Tashkent State University of Economics from 2016 to 2018.

Before joining Ørsted, Umid gained experience at Saxo Bank where they held multiple roles including Manager of Market Data Management, Operational Risk Officer, and Senior Associate in IT and Operations from 2007 to 2012. Umid also founded and served as CEO of R&U Group from April 2004 to July 2007.

Umid began their educational journey by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Tashkent State University of Economics, completing their studies from 1999 to 2003.

Following their undergraduate studies, Umid pursued further education in the field of Finance and International Business. Umid attended Aarhus University from 2004 to 2006, where they obtained a Master of Science degree.

During their time at Aarhus University in 2005, Umid also participated in an exchange program at the University of Montana, focusing on Business Administration. This experience provided him with additional knowledge in the field.

In 2003-2004, Umid attended AARHUS TECH, where they earned a certificate in Multimedia Design and Communication, further diversifying their academic background.

Umid's academic pursuits culminated in their completion of a PhD in Economics. From 2016 to 2021, they attended Tashkent State University of Economics to obtain their doctoral degree.

In addition to their formal education, Umid has also earned several certifications. Umid is a Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate, which they obtained in September 2021. Umid has also achieved the title of Microsoft Certified Azure AI Engineer Associate, awarded by Microsoft in May 2023. Furthermore, Umid holds the certification of Certified SAFe® 4 Agilist, offered by Scaled Agile, Inc.
