Thomas Gi Scharf

Thomas Gi Scharf has extensive experience in the field of information security and IT risk management. Thomas Gi is currently working as the Head of Information Security - CISO at Danske Spil. Prior to this, they held the role of Director and Senior Manager at PwC Denmark, where they specialized in assurance reports, data privacy protection, cyber security, and IT risk management advisory. Before that, they served as the Head of Group Internal Audit at KMD, focusing on IT security for internal and external systems. Thomas also worked as a Manager at KPMG, where they conducted audits, provided IT security advisory services, and managed projects. Thomas Gi began their career as an IT Auditor at Ernst & Young and later joined their Advisory Services team. Thomas started their professional journey as a Senior Assistant at Deloitte and worked as a Controller at SCA Packaging. Overall, their experience covers a wide range of roles and responsibilities in the IT and audit fields.

Thomas Gi Scharf's education history is as follows:

In 1990 to 1993, they attended Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark and obtained a degree in HA-Jura, specializing in business economics and commercial law.

From 1995 to 1998, they studied at Copenhagen Business School, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Cand.merc.aud., focusing on auditing.

In 2007, they pursued self-study to obtain a certification in IT Audit known as CISA.

In 2013, they attended DigiCure / Firebrand Training and obtained a degree in CISSP, specializing in information security. Thomas Gi also earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)².

The same year, they received the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from ISACA.

In 2014, they received a Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge from the Cloud Security Alliance.

In April 2020, Thomas obtained the ISO 27001 Lead Auditor - Information Security Certification from IBITGQ.

In addition to their formal education, they also obtained additional certifications, including the ITIL v.3 Foundation certification from Dansk IT in October 2012 and multiple certifications as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from ISACA and (ISC)² respectively.
