Garry Pritchett has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Garry started their professional journey as the Alumni Director at Averett University in June 2002, where they worked until May 2006. Following this, Garry joined First Tee Central Carolina in 2006 as the Program Director for Danville VA sites. In this position, they taught a life skills and healthy habits curriculum to youth using golf as a medium. Garry also recruited and trained volunteers, conducted fundraising and marketing, and handled student recruitment. Simultaneously, Garry was also associated with Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services as Prevention Program Manager, Family Wellness Coordinator, and Healthy Families Program Director. Garry supervised prevention specialists, organized parenting education, violence prevention, and drug prevention programs for at-risk populations in Danville and Pittsylvania County. Garry also facilitated parent and youth education groups.
Garry Pritchett obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Social Work/Counseling from Averett University. Garry attended the university from 1977 to 1981.

Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, created in 1972 by a joint resolution of Danville City Council and the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors, is the Community Services Board that provides mental health, developmental, substance use, and prevention services to the citizens of our City and County. A 15-member Board of Directors, which is appointed by Danville City Council and the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors, establishes policy and direction for the Agency. The Board of Directors contracts with its Executive Director to lead, direct, and supervise the Agency's day-to-day operations. Today, Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services has grown to be a large employer in Southside Virginia, with nearly 300 staff members and an annual operating budget in excess of $23 million dollars. In Fiscal Year 2020, our Agency directly served more than 5,000 individuals through more than 50 unique programs in behavioral health and developmental services. Prevention services reached more than 20,000 citizens of Pittsylvania County and Danville City.
