Cory B. Mason has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Cadet/Police Officer at Indiana University Bloomington from July 1994 to March 1996. Cory B. then worked as a Police Officer at the Town Of Danville Police Department from March 1996 to November 2005. Following that, they were a Lineman Apprentice at Hendricks Power Cooperative from November 2005 to March 2011, where they maintained overhead and underground distribution systems. Cory B. briefly worked as a Dispatcher at Hendricks County Communications Center from July 2011 to October 2011. Cory then worked as a Police Officer at Clayton Police Department from June 2011 to June 2014. Cory B. subsequently joined the Indianapolis Airport Authority as a Police Officer in June 2012 and also served as an Advanced EVO Instructor and S.T.O. During their time there, they gained experience in law enforcement. Finally, Cory became the President of the Board of School Trustees at Danville Community School Corporation in January 2015.

Cory B. Mason completed their high school education at Danville Community High School from 1989 to 1993, where they graduated with a High School Diploma in College Prep. Afterward, they pursued higher education at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs from 1993 to 1997. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Criminal Justice. In terms of additional certifications, Cory achieved the status of a Trained Mentor from Mentor Collective in August 2021.
