Daraniya is a journey into the timeless elegance of Persian Zari weaving—an ancient art form that flourished from the Sasanian Empire through the Pahlavi era. Founded in 2020 by Dr. Nadia Tahvildari, a distinguished scholar of traditional arts, Daraniya is dedicated to reviving and reimagining this endangered heritage for the modern world.

Celebrated for its rich silk warps and shimmering gold or silver-wrapped threads, Zari weaving once symbolized ultimate luxury. Yet by the 1970s, this exquisite craft had nearly disappeared. Daraniya is committed to bringing it back to life—supporting skilled artisans, promoting cultural sustainability, and reintroducing the beauty of Zari textiles to global audiences.

Our work speaks to designers, collectors, and connoisseurs of fine craftsmanship—those who seek stories woven in silk and gold, where tradition meets contemporary creativity.

At Daraniya, we are not just preserving history; we are weaving a new legacy of luxury.
