Abdullah Lafir began their work experience as a Customer Care Executive at Ismart Timex in 2009. Abdullah then transitioned to Aegis Services Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, where they worked as a Senior Executive in Operations from 2009 to 2012. In 2012, they joined Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka (Private) Limited as a Supervisor in Complaint Management, a role they held until 2016. From 2016 to 2019, they worked at Daraz as a Manager in IT, Product Management, and Business Intelligence. Abdullah then progressed to the role of Senior Manager in IT and Product Management at Daraz from 2019 to 2021. Currently, they are serving as the Head of IT and Product Management at Daraz, starting in April 2021.
Abdullah Lafir pursued their education in the field of Information Technology and Computer Software Engineering. Abdullah obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree from Cardiff Metropolitan University, specializing in Information Technology. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Software Engineering from the same university.
Before their studies at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Abdullah Lafir attended the International College Of Business And Technology in Sri Lanka, where they obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing and Systems Development, focusing on Computer Software Engineering. Abdullah also earned a Diploma in Computing from Wigan & Leigh College in the United Kingdom, specializing in Information Technology.
In terms of additional certifications, Abdullah Lafir achieved the CCNA certification from Cisco in November 2021. In May 2020, they obtained the NSE 1 Network Security Associate and NSE 2 Network Security Associate certifications from Fortinet.
