Dr. Martin Lorenz

Dr. Martin Lorenz has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of design and education. Dr. Martin is currently working as the Visual Conversation Design Lead at Dark Matter Labs since May 2023. Prior to this, Dr. Lorenz was the owner of TwoPoints.Net, a design company that they founded in 2000. Dr. Martin has also held various lecturer positions at institutions such as the University School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona, the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg GmbH, the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, and others. Dr. Lorenz has also conducted workshops as a lecturer for flexible systems and visual identities at different design schools and institutions. Additionally, they have delivered online workshops for Google on flexible visual systems. Dr. Martin Lorenz holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Design Research from Universitat de Barcelona, which they obtained from 2009 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Design Research from the same university from 2005 to 2009. Dr. Martin also holds a Bachelor's degree in Graphical and Typographical Design from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague | Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten (KABK) from 1999 to 2001. Furthermore, Dr. Lorenz completed their Pre-Diploma in Visual Communication at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences from 1996 to 1999. Dr. Martin received their High School Diploma from Integrierte Gesamtschule Linden between 1987 and 1996.
