Cassandra Walker-Leahy started their career as a Human Intelligence Sergeant in the US Army from 2005 to 2010. Cassandra then worked as a Senior All Source Intelligence Analyst at Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc. in 2010. In 2011, they joined Battelle as a HUMINT Targeting Officer. From 2013 to 2017, Cassandra worked as a Project Manager at Cherokee Nation Businesses. Cassandra then joined DarkStar Intelligence, LLC in 2017, first as the Director of DIA Contracts until 2021, and currently as the Vice President of Defense Programs, responsible for contract management and providing leadership and direction to various teams.

Cassandra Walker-Leahy has a Master's degree in Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operations from American Military University, which they obtained from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned another Master's degree in Criminal Justice with Emergency Management from Saint Leo University, attending from 2008 to 2010. Their undergraduate degree is a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, which they received in the years 2001 to 2005.

In addition to their formal education, Cassandra has also obtained several certifications. Cassandra completed a Business Development Boot Camp from Shipley Associates: We Help Companies Win Business in June 2023. In April 2022, they earned a certification in Conflict Management from Udemy. In October 2020, they became a Change Management Specialist (CMS) through the Management & Strategy Institute. Furthermore, they hold certifications as a Project Management - Lean Process Certified, Key Leadership Skills, and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (ICYB), all from the Management and Strategy Institute, obtained in April 2020, October 2019, and September 2019 respectively.
