Maria Harrop

Maria Harrop is an accomplished educational leader with over three decades of experience in various roles at Darlington College, currently serving as Head of Service Industries and Sport and Curriculum Manager for SSA7 Retail and Commercial Enterprise. Since joining the college in February 1992, Maria has held several leadership positions, including Head of Faculty for Services and Assistant Director of Hair, Beauty, Education, and Contact Centre Operations, achieving notable success in improving program grades and implementing apprenticeships. Prior to her tenure at Darlington College, Maria worked as a Beauty Therapist at Ragdale Hall Health Hydro & Thermal Spa and as a Senior Beauty Therapist and Regional Trainer for LCN Nails at Essanelle Hair and Beauty. Maria holds an MBA from Teesside University and extensive certifications from Darlington College and New College Durham, further demonstrating a commitment to professional development in education and beauty.
