Benjamin Brown, Ed.S has an extensive work experience in the education and technology field. Benjamin most recently worked as the Chief Technology Officer and Executive Director of Technology at the Darlington County School District. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Director of IT at Durham Public Schools. Benjamin also held positions at Northampton County Schools, Cumberland County Schools, Guilford County Schools, and the Williamsburg County School District. Their roles included Chief Technology Officer, Director of CTE, Director of Technology & Media Services, Assistant Principal, Teacher, and Computer Specialist/Network Admin/Title I Technology Facilitator.

During that time, from 2003 to 2005, they also earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science Information Technology from Limestone University.

Benjamin obtained a Master of Education degree in Education with a specialization in School Leadership & Administration from 2008 to 2009. Benjamin then continued their studies at Cambridge College and completed an Educational Specialist degree in Advanced Graduate Studies - Curriculum and Instruction from 2010 to 2012.

In 2019, Benjamin began attending Aspen University to pursue a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Learning with a specialization in K-12 Educational Leadership, which they are expected to complete in 2025.

In addition to their degrees, Benjamin has also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they achieved the CGCIO certification from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Benjamin also holds the Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) certification from the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), which they obtained in 2019. In 2021, they obtained the North Carolina Educator Certificate in various license areas, including Secondary Education - Principal - K12, and the SC Educator's Certificate in license areas such as Superintendent, Secondary Supervision & Principal, CTE Network Engineering K-12. Furthermore, Benjamin obtained the Trusted Apps Certified Leader certification from the 1EdTech Consortium in 2023.
