Hampton Tignor

Hampton Tignor serves as the Associate General Counsel at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) since May 2023 and is also a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations from June 2024. Tignor holds an Adjunct Professor position at George Mason University's Antonin Scalia Law School, where responsibilities include teaching JD and LLM candidates, alongside co-developing an innovative course on emerging technologies. Additionally, Tignor is an Attorney in the United States Army Reserve since March 2021 and previously worked as Deputy General Counsel for the Defense Technology Security Administration at the United States Department of Defense from December 2020 to May 2023. Tignor's background includes serving as an Attorney Advisor and Federal Prosecutor in the US Army between January 2015 and February 2021, alongside a brief career as a Professional Baseball Player with the Los Angeles Angels in 2010. Tignor holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida.
