Katherine Woolfe

Katherine Woolfe is a seasoned program manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) since March 2022, previously serving as a senior research scientist at Leidos from January 2017 to March 2022, where leadership was provided on underwater acoustic research programs. Prior to that, Katherine held the position of senior acoustic signal processor, focusing on the development of new acoustic systems. Katherine's early career included a postdoctoral researcher role at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and a Ph.D. graduate student position at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where a dissertation on monitoring deep ocean properties through passive acoustic methods was developed. Katherine's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Acoustics and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, along with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida.
