Keith Whitener

Keith Whitener is a Program Manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) since September 2023, following a substantial tenure as a Research Chemist at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory from January 2015 to September 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a NRC Postdoctoral Associate at the Naval Research Laboratory, specializing in graphene chemistry and physics, and a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where work focused on the synthesis of carborane-based polymerization catalysts and the determination of catalytic mechanisms under the supervision of Principal Investigator Josef Michl. Keith has also contributed to education as a Volunteer Teacher at Wilbur Cross High School and held various teaching positions at Yale University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Yale University and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
