Sina Askari currently serves as a Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) since December 2019, focusing on high-risk, high-reward research and development programs in microelectronics and semiconductor devices. In addition, Sina works as a research scientist for ECS, providing engineering consultancy in a SETA and subject matter expert capacity to DARPA's Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) and Defense Sciences Office (DSO). Previous experience includes roles as a research assistant at UC Irvine, R&D sensor/algorithm engineer at Medtronic, graduate student researcher at the University of Southern California, and student researcher at California State University, Los Angeles. Education includes a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Irvine, an MSc in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and dual BS degrees in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles, and the University of Tehran.
