John De Soto, RA has a diverse background in project management and architecture. John started their career in 1982 as a project manager at Steven B Jacobs Architects and then moved on to work at Bennet Design Associates from 1984 to 1989. In 1994, they joined NBC as a project manager and later transitioned to become a project director, overseeing the design and construction of various projects at 30 Rock Plaza. During their tenure at NBC Universal, they also managed multiple projects simultaneously and completed them on time and under budget. In 2008, they joined St. John's University as a senior project director, responsible for the full life cycle of the campus master plan and a major library renovation. John then founded DeSotoStudio in 2011, where they acted as the principal architect. Prior to their current role, John worked at Motorola Solutions as a project manager in field operations. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Project Manager at DASNY (Dormitory Authority - State of New York).
John De Soto, RA, graduated from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in 1981 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. During their time at the university, they focused their studies on Architecture and Art, with a particular emphasis on Drawing and Painting. In 1978-1979, John also had the opportunity to study Classical Architecture at The American Academy in Rome, Italy. John does not have any additional certifications at this time.
