Bastien Gardelle is an experienced development engineer in material sciences at Dassault Aviation since March 2014, where responsibilities include managing the physico-chemical laboratory and overseeing the evaluation and development of thermosetting resins and composite materials. Prior to this role, Bastien served as a PhD student at UMET - ISP from February 2010 to October 2013, collaborating with Dow Corning on intumescent silicone-based coatings for fire protection. Additionally, Bastien completed a master's thesis through an internship with Clariant, focusing on the fire performance and thermal degradation of polysilazane coatings. Earlier experience includes a research internship at the University of Toledo, involving fluorescence enhancement with gold nanoparticles. Bastien holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Ecole nationale supérieure de chimie de Lille and a Master's degree in Materials Science from the University of Lille.
