Currently serving as a Data Protection Executive at the Data Protection Commission Ireland since July 2021, Brendan has a solid background in product support and management, having previously held the position of Head of Product Support at Red Flare from February 2014 to June 2021. Brendan's expertise also includes roles as Product Manager at both Enbu Consulting and BT Wholesale, as well as a Bid Manager at BT. Brendan holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Trinity College Dublin and has foundational education from Colaiste Mhuire.

The Data Protection Commission is Ireland’s independent supervisory authority tasked with upholding individual data protection rights and regulating the data processing activities of the organisations operating within our jurisdiction. The DPC is the Irish supervisory authority responsible for monitoring the application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and we also have functions and powers related to other regulatory frameworks, including the Irish ePrivacy Regulations (2011) and the EU Directive known as the Law Enforcement Directive (LED).
