Marcelo Sales

Marcelo Sales is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in data-driven solutions and engineering across Latin America. Currently serving as the General Manager - LATAM for Field Engineering at Databricks since September 2020, Marcelo leads a team of nearly 100 Solutions Architects and Engineers, facilitating customer journeys in leveraging Databricks technology for data and AI solutions. Prior to Databricks, Marcelo held various leadership roles at Hitachi Vantara, including Latin America Architecture and Presales Director, where strategic presales and architecture functions were developed. Earlier positions include Sales Director at Sonda IT and roles at SAP, Ericsson, and Unisys, where Marcelo managed large project teams and various high-impact technology initiatives. Marcelo holds multiple MBA degrees and professional leadership certifications from renowned institutions, demonstrating a strong foundation in organizational leadership and technology management.
