Phil S

Phil S is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in leading design teams and driving strategic initiatives in the technology sector. Currently serving as a Member of Product Staff at Databricks since June 2025, Phil previously held the position of Head of Design at Tecton, where solutions for machine learning engineers were developed, and a new monitoring and debugging UI was created. From September 2016 to November 2023, Phil was the Head Of Design at SingleStore, where the company’s market perception was transformed and the design team was expanded from 0 to 20. Additionally, Phil contributed as a Design Leadership Advisor at Fivetran and served on the advisory board of Gainsight, providing insights and expertise on design processes. Phil holds a bachelor's degree in Art & Design with a concentration in Graphic Design from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, earned in 2005.
