Xiao Li

Xiao Li is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in the development of data analytics technologies, particularly in Apache Spark and the Lakehouse platform. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Databricks, Xiao Li oversees multiple teams focused on various aspects of the platform, including Databricks Runtime and SQL features. Previous roles at Databricks included Senior Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager, where leadership was provided to large teams driving innovation in big data solutions. Additionally, Xiao Li is a recognized contributor within The Apache Software Foundation as an Apache Spark Committer and PMC Member. Earlier experience at IBM included senior software engineering roles that emphasized database replication and big data applications. Xiao Li holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida and a combined BS/MS in Computer Science from Nanjing University of Science and Technology.
