Eugene Coakley has worked in a variety of roles since 2001. From 2001 to 2004, they were a Professional Rower for the Irish Rowing Team, where they were a Silver Medalist Senior World Rowing Championship in 2005, a Rowing World Cup Champion in 2006, and a Bronze Medalist Senior World Rowing Championship in 2006. Eugene was also identified by the Irish Sports Council as a high-potential professional athlete in 2005 and received a grant of €30,000. From 2004 to 2009, they were a Traffic Engineer for JB Barry & Partners, where they were responsible for design of a new 5km QBC and cycle lane in Dublin, examining trial holes dug along the proposed route to determine exact location of utilities, completing tender drawings, specification and bill of quantities, and establishing an underground profile of services on AutoCAD drawings. Since 2009, they have been a Data Engineer for Datactics.
Eugene Coakley, OLY received a 2:1 degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from University College Cork in 2001. Eugene also obtained the DCAM Certified V2 certification from the EDM Council in December 2022.
