Managing Director, DATAGROUP Operations at Datagroup

Joachim Rath is the current Managing Director of DATAGROUP Operations. Joachim has been in this role for 3 years and 1 month, and is responsible for servicing datacenter, compute, storage, backup and security services for all DATAGROUP entities and customers. Prior to this, they were the Managing Director of DATAGROUP DataCenter for 4 months, and before that they were the Vice President of Service and Operations for Brainloop, where they were responsible for all national and international SaaS and onpremise platform operations, internal IT, service management and projects. Joachim has also served as the Vice President of IT Operations for PAYBACK, where they were responsible for the operation of the national and global PAYBACK program, as well as office IT for the LP Group, governance and IT security management, vendor and license management, country rollout project management, and continuous delivery pipeline management. Joachim has also been directly responsible for 5 departments with over 160 employees and contractors, and had a 40 million euro budget. Some of their notable accomplishments include the successful launch of 24x7 support model with teams in US and India, the launch of PAYBACK Italy and PAYBACK Plenti US, datacenter migrations in Germany and Mexico, physical to virtual private cloud migration, launch of PAYBACK PAY, full E2E monitoring established, Biz-Dev-Ops introduced, successful TÜV and ISAE audits, reduction in release downtime from 12 hours to 45 minutes, DevOps program initiated as blueprint for PAYBACK and AMEX, IT performance metrics identified and monitoring established, PAYBACK Technologies introduced as reference architecture in AMEX, Big Data blueprint developed, DC and infrastructure cost efficiency programs launched and executed, and organizational excellence and collaboration model introduced in PAYBACK and AMEX.

Joachim Rath studied electrical engineering at the University of Paderborn from 1991 to 1995, specializing in automation and neural networks. Joachim also holds a diploma in engineering from that institution.
