Christopher Peter Makris

Christopher Peter Makris is the current DataFab Pod Leader at Dataiku. Christopher has also served as the Director, Security Data Science at Empower Retirement from September 2019 to February 2020, and as the Director of Data Science at the New York City Data Science Academy from May 2015 to June 2017.

Makris is responsible for expanding and implementing cybersecurity initiatives across company technology via advanced analytics and machine learning. Christopher has also presented recommendations on strategic advancements, process optimizations, and latency reductions to senior leadership. In addition, they have built and deployed models to probabilistically identify fraudulent activity; triaged audit efforts to optimize accuracy and minimize false positives in concordance with business constraints.

Makris has also monitored real-time web/mobile traffic and deployed alerts of anomalous activity. Christopher has also maintained a user access database to aid in securely provisioning the administrative access to sensitive data. Lastly, they have automated a replicable process and codebase for custom document generation of cross-functional internal role designations; reduced weeks of manual effort to minutes aiding in the reallocation of resources to more salient endeavors.

Christopher Peter Makris has a Master's Degree in Statistical Practice from Carnegie Mellon University, a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University, and minors in Logic: Information & Computation and Discrete Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University. Christopher also has a High School Diploma from The Masters School and certification from TECNOLÓGICO DE MONTERREY in Tecnológico de Monterrey Honorary Certification and Dataiku in Dataiku Core Designer.
