Maeva J. completed their Maîtrise (Master's degree) in Sciences de l'environnement at UQAM | Université du Québec à Montréal from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they pursued their Master 1 degree in Sustainable Development, majoring in Corporate Social Responsibility, at UVSQ Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines from 2009 to 2010.

In 2007, Maeva obtained a Bachelor's degree in East Asian Studies from The University of Sheffield. Before that, they completed their Licence (Bachelor's degree) in Chinese and international relations at Université Bordeaux Montaigne (ex-Bordeaux 3) from 2006 to 2009.

Furthermore, Maeva J. Charles has obtained several certifications related to their field. In 2016, they completed the "Social Impact Strategy: Tools for Entrepreneurs and Innovators" certification from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2013, they acquired "The Challenges of Global Poverty" certification from edX. Additionally, they obtained the "Environmental Assessment Tools: GIS & MCA" certification in 2012 from SIFÉE, Université Senghor, UQAM, IEPF. Recently, in 2019, they obtained two certifications from Datamaran: the "Datamaran 4 Benchmark Certification" and the "Datamaran 4 Materiality Certification."
