Karen Mielcarek has extensive experience in journalism and news editing, currently serving as the SME Senior Manager and Editor at Dataminr since May 2018, where the focus is on uncovering high-impact events and critical information for clients using advanced AI and machine learning technology. Prior to Dataminr, Karen worked at Bloomberg LP for 17 years as a Breaking News Editor, specializing in writing and editing live news headlines, managing workflow, and training colleagues. Earlier experience includes roles at Dow Jones, where responsibilities spanned from Senior Interactive News Indexer to Interactive News Indexer, and positions at FCIB and The Home News & Tribune. Karen holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Rutgers University, obtained in 1997.
