Andrés de la Peña has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Andrés began their career at Quoriam Ingenieros as a Software Architect/Analyst, where they conducted a comparative study of cloud horizontal M2M platforms. Andrés then worked as a R&D Engineer at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where they developed in silico simulators of Molecular Biology DNA procedures and a tool for the management of field archeological documentation.

Afterwards, Andrés worked at G4M3 Studios as a Big Data Architect, focusing on the development of a social gaming platform for mobile devices. Andrés then joined StratioBD as a Big Data Architect, where they were the main designer and developer of Stratio Cassandra, a fork of Apache Cassandra that uses Lucene for extending C* index functionality. Andrés also collaborated on Stratio Deep, an integration layer between Apache Spark and Cassandra.

Currently, Andrés is working as a Software Engineer at DataStax.

Andrés de la Peña attended the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 2000 to 2010. Andrés obtained an Engineer's degree in Computer Engineering with a specialization in Software Engineering. In addition, they received the certification of Certified Developer on Apache Cassandra from O'Reilly Media in September 2015.
