Amanda Lee Barber, MBA has a diverse range of work experience in event management and business consulting. Amanda currently serves as the Director of Events & Meetings at the Daughters of the American Revolution. Prior to that, they were the Business Owner of Uptempo Strategies, where they provided affordable and uncomplicated consulting services. Amanda also worked at the University of Maryland as the Assistant Director of Special Events, overseeing and executing events of various sizes while maximizing fundraising goals. Amanda has experience in project management, having led cross-departmental unit committees for high-profile events. Amanda also worked as the Scheduling and Rentals Manager at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, where they led the Rentals Program and implemented operational changes resulting in a diversified client base. Amanda was previously the Manager of Venue Programs at CulturalDC, responsible for managing venue rentals and increasing earned income through targeted marketing strategies. Amanda has additional experience as an Operations Associate and Booking and Events Manager at CulturalDC, as well as internships in production management at the Shakespeare Theatre Company and La Jolla Playhouse.
Amanda Lee Barber, MBA, completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business from 2017 to 2019. Prior to pursuing their MBA, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Theatre/Theatre Arts Management from The University of Tulsa, where they studied from 2003 to 2007.

The organization was founded in 1890 with the simple mission of promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. These vibrant, active women are the heart of the organization. The grassroots work of DAR volunteers promotes the organization's objectives of historic preservation, education and patriotism.
