Elena Nelson is a seasoned healthcare professional with extensive experience in MDS coordination and nursing. Currently serving as a Remote MDS Specialist at Caldera Care since December 2023, Elena has held various roles in the healthcare sector, including MDS Coordinator, Restorative Nurse, and Insurance Case Manager at Cascadia Healthcare and Life Care Centers of America. Elena is also the Organizing Regent of the ISSDAR Pleasantview Chapter in Idaho, actively honoring and acknowledging service members and serving as the ISDAR Project Patriot Chair from 2021 to 2023. In addition to healthcare, Elena operates Rockin E Photography and ån•nå Photography, specializing in portraits and event photography. Elena's educational background includes a Licensed Practical Nurse degree from North Idaho College and a diploma in General Studies from Coeur d'Alene High School.

The organization was founded in 1890 with the simple mission of promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. This nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America's future through better education consists of over 185,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the world. These vibrant, active women are the heart of the organization. The grassroots work of DAR volunteers promotes the organization's objectives of historic preservation, education and patriotism.
