Michael Covington has an extensive work experience history. Michael started their career as a General Manager at Kathy's Pet Connection, where they managed a team of sales associates and dog groomers. Michael was responsible for employee recruitment, store improvements, and overall operations. Michael then moved on to work as a General Manager at The Master's - A Parable Christian Store. In this role, they managed a team of sales associates, oversaw inventory management, and increased bookstore revenue significantly. Michael also worked on promotions and was involved in the planning and execution of various key events.

After that, Covington joined the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association as an Information & Education Director. Michael wrote requirements, gathered survey data, and oversaw strategic alliances. Michael also provided consultative services to member publishing executives and managed partnerships.

Covington then worked at Disciplr as a Business Team Lead and later as a Managing Director. In these roles, they focused on marketing, sales, and business development.

Lastly, Covington served as the Vice President Publishing & Acquisitions, leading editorial direction, content acquisition, and strategic partnerships for the Learning Resource Group.

Michael Covington studied at Clovis Community College - Company from 1991 to 1993 and obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Marketing. In addition to their formal education, they have acquired various certifications over the years. Michael became a PSM I - Certified Scrum Master in July 2016 through scrum.org. Later on, in April 2020, they completed a certification in Strategic Negotiation from LinkedIn. In July 2021, they obtained a certification in Leadership Fundamentals, also from LinkedIn. Michael further expanded their knowledge and skills by completing a Certificate in Whole Leader Development in December 2022, offered by WiLD Leaders, Inc. Most recently, in June 2023, they became a WiLD Executive Fellow through WiLD Leaders, Inc.
