Ryan Knowling completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 2016 to 2020. Ryan then pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Systems Engineering from Colorado State University, which they obtained from 2022 to 2025.

In addition to their formal education, Ryan has obtained multiple certifications. These include the PE Mechanical Exam (Fluid & Thermal) from NCEES in June 2022, the OOSEM Accelerator™ from Delligatti Associates, LLC in May 2022, the OCSMP Accelerator™ SysML Training Course from Delligatti Associates, LLC in April 2022, the OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional: Model Builder - Fundamental (OCSMP) from OMG in April 2022, and the OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional: Model User (OCSMP) from OMG in March 2022. Ryan also earned the title of Engineering Intern from the Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in February 2022.
