Ryan Knowling

Ryan Knowling has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Ryan'smost recent position was as a Senior Systems Engineer at Davidson Technologies Inc., starting in August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Dynetics, Inc. as a Systems Engineer for Directed Energy from November 2021 to July 2022. Ryan also worked at Kord, where they held the roles of Systems Engineer for Directed Energy from May 2021 to November 2021, and Systems Engineer for Directed Energy (IRAD) from November 2020 to May 2021. In 2020, they worked at Dynamic Concepts, LLC as a Modeling and Simulation Engineer from July to November, and at Boeing as a Student Contractor for the Product Definition Team from January to May. Additionally, they have experience in leadership roles as the Chapter President, Vice President, and Event Coordinator for The Tau Beta Pi Association, Inc. from August 2018 to May 2020, and as the Chapter Scholarship Chairman for Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity from November 2018 to January 2020. Ryan also worked as a Kitchen Team Member at Chick-fil-A-Franchise from February 2016 to May 2020. During their time at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, they worked as a Grader from October to December 2019 and as a CAD Teaching Assistant from August to December 2019. Ryan also gained experience as an Intern in Lean Manufacturing at Heat Transfer Products Group LLC. from May to August 2019.

Ryan Knowling completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 2016 to 2020. Ryan then pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Systems Engineering from Colorado State University, which they obtained from 2022 to 2025.

In addition to their formal education, Ryan has obtained multiple certifications. These include the PE Mechanical Exam (Fluid & Thermal) from NCEES in June 2022, the OOSEM Accelerator™ from Delligatti Associates, LLC in May 2022, the OCSMP Accelerator™ SysML Training Course from Delligatti Associates, LLC in April 2022, the OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional: Model Builder - Fundamental (OCSMP) from OMG in April 2022, and the OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional: Model User (OCSMP) from OMG in March 2022. Ryan also earned the title of Engineering Intern from the Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in February 2022.

Furthermore, Ryan has completed various other certifications and training courses, including "Leading Productive Meetings" from LinkedIn in October 2021, "SysML Intensive with MBSE using Cameo Systems Modeler" from Dassault Systèmes in October 2021, "FE Mechanical Exam" from NCEES in November 2020, and "Microsoft Project 2016 Essential Training" from LinkedIn in April 2020. Ryan has also achieved the certification of Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) from INCOSE in January 2023.
