Currently serving as a Director at Davies Maguire since November 2010, Gareth previously held the role of Director at Rambollwhitbybird from November 1999 to November 2010, managing a variety of complex refurbishment and new build projects valued between £200k and £280m, including several award-winning initiatives. Earlier in Gareth's career, significant contributions were made as a Design Engineer at Alan Baxter & Associates from January 1994 to November 1999, following a tenure as a draughtsman from 1987 to 1991.

Davies Maguire are Structural and Civil Engineering Design consultants with offices in London, Oxford and Cambridge. We have a track record for successfully unlocking the value in numerous complex projects. Prior to founding the practice, the directors worked together for over 15 years. We have a hands on approach more typically found amongst smaller companies while having the depth of knowledge equivalent to that of any of our larger competitors. Our clients have included many successful developers who have commissioned us for repeat projects on the basis of the skill we have in communicating with architects and establishing with them, and the whole team, a clear structural armature around which the whole design can proceed. This is a process, not only built on the directors’ appreciation of architecture and the value of well-planned buildings but also a keen understanding for how they will be built by the substructure and superstructure trade contractors. Their pioneering work with these trades has led to a number of awards and involved them in being commissioned by contractors in the reengineering of others’ complex designs during the tender process. Our aim is to continue delivering practical and commercially astute designs for our clients, consulting and evolving their brief with them to get both the concept and the small details right.
