Paul Marquardt

Paul Marquardt is a seasoned legal professional with over 25 years of experience in cross-border transactions and national security law. Currently a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, Paul specializes in CFIUS and foreign investment reviews, economic sanctions, export controls, and financial crimes compliance. With a previous role as a partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, extensive expertise encompasses corporate governance, compliance issues, and transactional matters, including anti-money laundering and anti-corruption laws. In addition to legal practice, Paul serves on the Board of Trustees for the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction, focusing on community development and poverty alleviation. Paul holds an MA in International Relations and a JD from Yale University and Yale Law School, and a BA from the University of Michigan.
